Adoption News and Spring Work

Hee-haw!

I'm Samson, a 7-year-old miniature donkey. I trotted into the Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County almost six years back, leaving behind a loving home. My old folks dubbed me the "goat-killing donkey." They had a bunch of goats they wanted me to guard from coyotes, but I ended up causing more trouble than protection. Honestly, I just wanted to play with them!

But let's talk about happier things—I absolutely adore my home at IHRWC and all my buddies here. Five years ago, I had this bright idea to start a blog with monthly news updates about our lives here. My pals and I called it "Straight from the Rescues’ Mouths" because so many of my rescue friends want to help co-host with me. You can sign up for our email list to get the monthly blog. Now, let's dive into the fun news updates!

Razny just loaded into the horse trailer and going to his new forever home.

My big buddy, Razny, got adopted by a wonderful family. He's so excited to work in English riding and make new friends. Razny reached out to me with an update—he's loving his new home! He's getting a lot of attention, not just from new his family but also from being a favorite at the barn already. He sounds fantastic, and we are so happy for him!

The spring workup with the vet is my least favorite time of year. It's also the Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County's (IHRWC) biggest expense in the next couple of months. Each of us will cost at least $200 just for shots, but it can be up to $400 if we need teeth and sheath cleanings. We would all greatly appreciate your donation today to help keep us healthy, with clean bedding and a roof over our heads. No donation is too small!

Corona inside our rescue facility.

My poor pal Corona has been waiting for his forever home for over 3 years. He's been at IHRWC longer than any other horse, waiting for that special someone. Trust me, being pals with him, I know he has his problems, but who doesn't? To top it off, my human pals told me this poor boy lost his monthly sponsor. At least I know my pal is safe and loved with everyone here at IHRWC.

I've got to mosey on for now, but I'll be back next month! Be sure to sign up or check your email for another update from Straight from the Rescues’ Mouths.

P.S. I know emails can sometimes end up in the junk folder. Keep an eye out and make sure you say you want to read a crazy donkey blog.

Thanks!!
