Samson checking in for your Straight From the Rescues' Mouth!

I know, I know—I missed last month’s update. But in my defense, we’ve been super short-handed around here, so I had to lend a hoof again. (Though, between you and me, I think my human pals would say I was more of a distraction than a helper. Apparently, “eating hay scraps” doesn’t count as stacking hay just calories. Who knew?)

But I do have some GREAT news: our Buy a Bale Fundraiser was a success—we have the hay! Our barn is almost full. Just a couple more loads are coming in the next few weeks, and then (hopefully) no more hay-stacking until next year. Phew!

Since there’s so much to catch you up on, here are some highlights from the last two months:

  • 🚰 Water went out. Huge scare, but thankfully it’s fixed now.

  • 🌪️ Storm damage repairs. Finally got that fence back in shape.

  • ⚡ Electric fence went out. Yep… fixed that too.

  • 🐴 Rescued 16 animals and…

  • 🏡 Adopted out 4!

  • 🐱 Three kittens are being slowly socialized so we can find them house-homes.

  • 🛠️ Repairs & clean-up all over the place.

  • 🐈 Barn cats, barn cats, barn cats! We’ve rescued and adopted out a ton this year, but the calls keep coming. Right now, what we really need are adopters with barns and acres who can give these cats safe places to live free, wild, and happy. (Plus—they’ll keep your barn mouse-free in exchange for dinner!)

Now, for the upcoming fun stuff:

  • 🍎 Critter Classroom: Homeschool Day at the Rescue

    September 17th, 10 AM

  • 🍁 Fall into Giving

     October 4th, 2 PM

Check out our website for all the details!

And last but not least… our Need of the Month:

  • 6 red corner feeders

So there you have it! From hay stacks to kittens, from broken fences to fun fall events—we’ve been busy, busy, busy. Thanks for always being part of our rescue family. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I see some hay scraps calling my name…

Your pal,

Samson 🫏
